Senior CNC Operator

We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Machinist on behalf of a long-established manufacturing business with a strong reputation for engineering excellence. The company specialises in the manufacture of optical and electromechanical equipment and instrumentation supplied to customers worldwide.

Salary £38,000 Per Annum

Hours Rotating Shift Pattern

• Monday – Friday 6:00am – 2:00pm
• Monday – Friday 2:00pm – 10:00pm

The Role

• Programming, setting, and operating CNC turning machines including Mazak machining centres
• Programming, setting, and operating CNC milling machines including Matsuura machining centres
• Creating, proving out, editing, and optimising CNC programs
• Producing complex components from first-off through to production
• Selecting tooling, fixtures, feeds, and speeds for machining operations
• Troubleshooting machining, tooling, and programming issues
• Supporting junior machinists and operators where required
• Contributing to continuous improvement and production efficiency
• Maintaining machines and ensuring Health & Safety procedures are followed
• Operating machinery to maximise production output
• Maintaining tooling within the machine shop
• Carrying out machine maintenance and cleaning
• Working to company standards and procedures at all times
• Promoting teamwork and a positive working environment

Requirements

• Previous CNC machining experience within a manufacturing environment
• Ability to program, set, and operate CNC turning and milling machines
• Experience with Mazak and Matsuura machinery preferred
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Positive and proactive attitude
• Commitment to quality and Health & Safety standards
